The Shadow Foreign Secretary dropped into Worcester on Thursday to support Robin Walker's campaign and meet voters on the High Street.
Local activists welcomed William Hague beside the Elgar Statue and joined him, led by Robin Walker on a walkabout down the High Street.
The event was well supported with over 20 conservative activists taking part and a number of passers by coming up to wish Robin good luck with his campaign.
After the event, Mr Hague said
"I have visited Worcester a number of times and this is the best that I have seen it. I can tell that there is now a mood for change and support for another Walker for Worcester. We cannot take anything for granted but the response we've had today shows that there is strong support for Robin Walker and the change we need."
"We need to cut waste and get the deficit down and the cuts that we will make will be in waste that the government acknowledges is there, not services. Our manifesto sets out how we can fix that and also how we can give people a greater say in how their services are run and there is a real appetite for that."
Robin Walker said,
"It has been fantastic to have a leading Shadow Cabinet member of William's calibre come up to support my campaign. It shows that the Conservative party is listening to Worcester and determined to win here. We need a Conservative victory here in Worcester and we need one across the country. The energy and fresh ideas that William and his Shadow Cabinet Colleagues will bring to government are vital for the change we need."
"As a young aspiring politician, it has been exciting to be able to campaign with one of the giants of our party and someone who, from a young age himself, has been a leading light of the Conservative movement. It is even more inspiring to meet people on the street who are supporting the change we can bring. We must keep working flat out to deliver that change for Worcester."
