Robin Walker, Conservative Candidate for Worcester met with Maggie Allen, the Centre Manager, staff and clients at the Myriad Centre on St George's Walk to see the work that they do with young people and adults with complex needs just up the road from where he lives.
The centre is shortly to celebrate its third birthday and looks after a number of severely challenges individuals with medical, physical and communication needs. Its key aims include providing them with education, security, routine, emotional support and dignity.
Following his visit Robin said
"I have been very impressed with what I have seen at Myriad. The people who this centre serves are some of the most vulnerable people in our society with some of the most challenging disabilities that anyone could face. It is inspiring to see the happiness that they can enjoy in this setting, the hard work and caring provided by the staff and the genuine sense of compassion in everything that is being done here."
"This facility is funded as a charity and I have been impressed by the excellent equipment that people's generosity has been able to provide, but it also has support from the County Council, the NHS and various government bodies that deal with complex needs. I will do everything I can to support the Myriad Centre and encourage those institutions to continue their support."
