Robin Walker, MP for Worcester, is urging constituents to ensure they have registered to vote in the European Union Referendum as the deadline to register is midnight tonight.
The referendum will take place on June 23rd and whether the United Kingdom should remain in or leave the European Union is a huge decision for this country. Robin welcomes that this decision is being made by the British people as a whole.
“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, where every vote and every voter counts”.
“Whatever your view on the referendum this is the chance of a lifetime to have your say. I have urged all local sixth form colleges and schools, plus the University of Worcester to ensure that students are registered and know the importance of this vote. Young people have most at stake as they will live with the consequences of this decision the longest.”
“What is vital is that everyone with the right to do so gets on and registers to vote. It would be tragic to have formed a view on this matter only to find that on June 23rd you miss out on the chance to express it. I would urge everyone resident in Worcester to check that they have fully registered.”
“I worked hard in my first Parliament to secure the right for all my constituents to vote on this issue. I am delighted that on June 23rd they will have the chance to do so.”
“Registering takes only 5 minutes and the link is here: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
