People in Worcester can now benefit from the Government’s new Great British Insulation Scheme to help people to insulate their homes, increasing their energy efficiency, and saving them money on their energy bills.
You may be able to get support with your home if:
- It has an energy performance certificate (EPC) of D to G – Check your EPC at gov.uk
- It is in Council Tax bands A-D in England – Check your Council Tax band at gov.uk
To check if you are eligible you will need to know your total household income, the benefits anyone living in the property receives, and be able to provide your contact details.
You can check your eligibility at the gov.uk online checker tool.
This investment of over £1 billion for over 300,000 British homes in lower council tax bands is set to save each participating household between £300 and £400 per year on their annual energy bill, keeping homes warm through the winter months for years to come. The scheme will deliver a wide range of upgrades including roof, loft, or cavity wall insulation through the household energy supplier, as well as specific insulation for park homes.
Speaking about the scheme Worcester MP Robin Walker said:
“I am proud of this Government’s commitment to continue supporting people with their energy bills in the long term through the Great British Insulation Scheme, keeping homes warm in winter for years to come.
“These types of upgrades are the best long-term solution for reducing energy costs for families, thereby tackling fuel poverty and keeping our families warm and healthy during the winter months.
